July

July - Be serious about leisure. I don't deal with downtime well. My idea of spending downtime is to sleep from like midnight to noon... what a waste of time.

I am 5 days late - which is ok for a month dedicated to leisure. I had picked this month because it's the only full month that I don't work during the year. I am "lucky" that summer school isn't running this year or I'd have to work the next two weeks. I really could've used that money but I am trying to look at it form this month's "goal" - leisure.
I chose to focus on relaxing everyday. That means taking a nap or watching tv but not for the entire day. I also planned 2 events for this month that are relaxing - one is tubing down the Greenfield River and the other is just hanging at the house eating some seafood and bbq.

Going to the gym/working out doesn't sound like leisure but it gets rid of stress and I have an issue with downtime. So if I can get rid of the stress of having downtime maybe it'll cancel it out?

If I feel like doing something I am going to do it, unless it's super expensive. I rented one of those hubway bikes and it was awesome. I am not a biker but I would do that again.

I had never been to the tall ships in Boston so I went this year at the last minute. There are many things in this area I've never done.

Being silly is self explanatory. Laughter makes me feel better which is why I watch a lot of Friends re-runs and How I Met Your Mother re-runs.

Hanging out with friends always makes me feel less stressed and more relaxed. Mostly because I do not like being alone.

One of my favorite relaxing things to do is read a book or magazine in a pool. Now, I don't have a pool but I do have a kiddie pool and that counts.

And spending more time with the pups is relaxing because they make me laugh.
